Freddie Louden
A fixture on the Baltimore and Washington music scenes for
almost thirty years Freddie has constantly and consistently been
recruited by bands and artists of note to grace live and studio
projects in a wide variety of styles. Some of these include
alternative band The Loft/Plugged; nationally charting new age
artist, Jeff Order; internationally acclaimed women’s Jewish
ensemble, Ayelet HaShachar; Naked Blue; Kim Hall/Kimberly
Praay; EMI composer/singer Shaunna Bolton; Warner-published
AA artists Cubic Feet; One by One (feat. Stanley Whitaker and
David Bach of Happy the Man) and his current ensemble, the
critically acclaimed purveyors of “Phat Blues”, the Kelly Bell
Band.
Freddie has also shared the stage with such well known
Baltimore based legends as Dennis Chambers and jazz fusion
innovator Carl Filipiak. His stock has risen steadily in the region
and after winning honorable mention and placing near the top
of its reader’s poll several times, the Baltimore-based Music
Monthly, covering the Mid-Atlantic, finally certified him as the
area’s favorite bassist. Freddie currently uses Groove Tools
GTBD-7 and GT-7 basses during his high energy performances
with the Kelly Bell Band on some two hundred shows annually
from coast to coast.
