After almost 10 years on the 4 string, John gave Bill Conklin a call and ordered his first 7 string, an unlined fretless, in 1993. Since then John has kept Bill to his company's motto, dreaming up and designing numerous instruments including the famous doubleneck 7 string fretted/7 string fretless bass and his 36 fret 8 string (non-doubled) bass/synth bass fretted and fretless monstrosities. Now owning 10 of Bill's fine and beautiful 7 and 8 string masterpieces, John's Conklin basses have seen extensive live action throughout the southeast U.S.
