Edo Castro

Bassist Edo Castro is not very well known to the outside world but those that are-in-the-know clearly understand his musical prowess. He's one of a handful of bass players in the Bay Area playing Conklin multi-String basses. It is rumored that he also plays Conklin 9 and 8 String basses, but to this day there has been no public sightings of him with more than 7 strings. A native to the SF Bay Area he moved to Chicago to complete his music studies in 1982. After 8 years he returned to the SF Bay Area in 1990 and began recording and backing up some of the local talent. He has recorded with Percy Howard, Jill Knight, Deborah Pardes, Ilene Adair, Eva Jay Fortune, Michael La Macchia, Drew Youngs and many others. In January of 2004 Edo released his first solo effort of modern instrumental music entitled "Edo" produced by Drew Youngs and Earthwire records. The CD is available at cdbaby.com.
